Shipboard Air Traffic Radars (SATR) AN/SPN-50(V)1

The Naval Air Systems Command Patuxent River (NAVAIRSYSCOM) intends to modify the current production contract for Shipboard Air Traffic Radars (SATR) AN/SPN-50(V)1, N00019-20-C-0072, in order to procure an additional quantity of six (6) Shipboard Air Traffic Radars (SATR) AN/SPN-50(V)1 and engineering changes. The current contract was awarded on a sole source basis to Saab, Inc. Saab, Inc. is the sole designer, developer, and manufacturer of the (SATR) AN/SPN-50(V)1 and is the only firm that can provide these radars within the required timeframe.

This acquisition is being pursued on a sole source basis under the statutory authority of 10 U.S.C. 3204(a)(1) (formerly known as 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, "Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements". The Government does not intend to use the provisions of FAR Part 12 for this acquisition.
