3. Questions & Answers:
a. Q: Are the temperature and humidity requirements for the eventual contractor or are
there required HVAC modifications to meet these requirements?
A: The existing equipment provides current temperature and humidity requirements.
Section 2.2.1.2.3. is no longer included as part of this RFP.
b. Q: Does the existing system need to remain operational until the new system is
operational?
A: Yes, the existing system is to remain operational until the new system is operational.

c. Q: Does the work need to be overseen by a Vermont Fire Protection P.E. or is a NICET
III Engineering Technician acceptable?
A: Attached are the requirements to Design, install, inspect, service, or recharge a fixed
fire extinguishing system. An NICET III Engineering Technician is acceptable.
d. Q: Development – Can the design schedule be condensed to eliminate the Design
Development phase and go straight to Construction Documents from Schematic
Design?
A: The design development phase and the construction document phase may be
combined. Therefore, construction documents can go straight from schematic design.
e. Q: Does Engineer need to provide Submittal Exchange? If so, what timeframe?
A: Submittal Exchange will not be required for this project.
f. Q: Does the State have structural drawings of the vault construction?
A: Attachments “F1 – Foundation Plan” and “F3 – Foundation Details” included with
this addendum contain original foundation and framing plans from 1988. These contain
structural information.
Additionally, a 2017 Pellet System & Heat Replacement took place at the Central Services Building
in the vault & Mezzanine area. Attachment “M7 – Pellet system & Heat Replacement” included with
this addendum contains a new mechanical plan.
