The Federal Bureau of Prisons (FBOP) is issuing solicitation 15BFA025B00000021 for the award of a firm-fixed-price construction contract for a project entitled Replace Chillers and Cooling System at the Federal Correctional Complex Tucson (FCC Tucson), located in Tucson, Arizona.



FCC Tucson is a federal correctional facility located at 9300 South Wilmot Road, Tucson, AZ, 85756. The project consists of the following:





Contractor shall completely prepare site, including demolition and removal of existing equipment, structures, and furnish labor and materials and perform work for the quick connection of a mobile chiller to the existing chilled water loop and electrical power system as shown on the attached drawings and specifications.





This project scope of work includes the removal and replacement of the existing cooling tower and three existing centrifugal chillers. The existing cooling tower is supported on concrete supports. The new cooling tower will be of a different configuration and therefore the existing supports will be removed and the new cooling tower will be supported on a new concrete support structure. The variable frequency drives for the existing cooling towers will be replaced with new variable frequency drives. The existing condenser water piping into the building will be replaced. The existing condenser water pumps will not be replaced. The

three existing centrifugal chillers will be replaced with three new high efficiency centrifugal chillers. The new chillers are larger than the existing chillers and therefore the concrete pads that support the units will be replaced with larger concrete pads. The new chillers will be connected to the existing chilled water piping system. The existing chilled water pumps will not be replaced. The new cooling towers and new chillers will be connected to the existing building management system. In addition, new structural supports, equipment pads and electrical power supply modifications will be required as shown on the drawings and specifications.





The performance period for the project will be 364 Calendar Days from issuance of the notice to proceed





The NAICS code for this requirement is 238220 with a corresponding small business size standard of $19 million.



Pursuant to Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 36.204, the estimated magnitude of the project lies between $1,000,000.00 and

$5,000,000.00. (NOTE: This range is one of 8 available ranges from FAR 36.204 and is not meant to imply that the project has

necessarily been estimated/budgeted to the maximum of the selected range. It merely conveys that the estimate/budget lies

somewhere within that range.)
