2026 Comprehensive Plan Update

Doraville is a growing city and strives to manage this growth as effectively as possible while providing excellent service to its existing residents and businesses. Priorities include:

• • Creating a safer, more walkable city.
  • Providing better, safer connectivity within Doraville and to the larger metro region.
  • Prioritizing maintenance and repair of existing infrastructure.
  • Reducing car dependency.

This update includes much more than the typical Comprehensive Plan. There are several reasons for this, both practical and principled.

• • Reduce the number of disparate plans and policy documents used to make decisions.
  • Foster better cooperation between City staff, elected officials, and residents, and avoid silos of specializations and subject matter experts.
  • Engender more holistic thinking on the part of staff and elected officials when making decisions regarding allocation of resources, grant writing, planning, and staffing.
