Description:

Request: The County of Humboldt seeks a Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP) familiar with EPA regulations for documenting the disposal of demolished construction materials containing asbestos and lead.

Project Description: Nation's Finest's, VA Administration of California, Eureka, will be contracting with Infinity Abatement Services, as a subcontractor for environmental remediation/restoration, to remediate non-friable asbestos material found within an exterior structure planned for demolition. The project will consist of demolition and removal of a 30 ft constructed 1960’s awning containing asbestos and lead. This project, located in City of Eureka in CA, will remove a public health hazard, resulting in a safer passageway for pedestrians and a safer building for Nation's Finest employees and the veterans they serve.

Scope of Services:

  1. Review contractor’s work plan for the safe removal and disposal of asbestos containing materials (ACM) in accordance with EPA BF regulations.
  2. Ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations, including the Clean Air Act (CAA) and the Asbestos National Emission Standard for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP).
  3. Prepare a Quality Assurance Project Plan (QAPP) for the project if not completed.
  4. Supervise the post demolition and asbestos abatement activities to ensure safety and compliance.
  5. Prepare all necessary documentation and reports for final submission to the EPA and other regulatory agencies as the QEP.
  6. Total work estimated at under 40 computer hours, 2 hrs travel – benefits and indirect expenses must be included in quote.
