The Hamilton-Wenham School district is seeking quotes for an Asbestos Abatement project for two abutting classrooms within our Winthrop Elementary School. We wish to provide our staff with a safe and compliant working environment through the removal of hazardous asbestos containing materials. As part of this initiative, contractors will also be tasked with removing carpeting in both offices prior to the abatement process. This project is critical for the health and safety of all staff members and must be executed in accordance with state and federal regulations. Location: 325 Bay Road, South Hamilton, MA 01982

Quote Due Date: All quotes must be submitted no later than 6/3/2026

Work Commencement Date:The work will commence on 06/23/2026 and shall conclude NLT 06/31/2026

Duration of Work: The abatement must be completed within one week.

Project Scope

The scope of work involves the removal of asbestos-containing material from two classrooms, each measuring approximately 950 Sq ft. each. ?The project must be completed in strict accordance with the following regulations and codes:

• Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) Guidelines
• Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA)
• Massachusetts Building Code
• Massachusetts Procurement Law

Requirements

1. Licensing and Certification:
   • Bidders must hold a valid Massachusetts asbestos abatement contractor license.
   • All personnel performing the abatement must be certified and trained in asbestos handling protocols.
2. Abatement Process:
   • Detailed description of the proposed abatement methodology.
   • Containment measures to prevent asbestos fiber release during removal.
   • Procedures for air monitoring before, during, and after the abatement process.
   • Proper disposal of the carpet must be included in the quote.
3. Safety Protocols:
   • Compliance with OSHA regulations and safe work practices.
   • Submission of a safety plan addressing emergency procedures and worker protection.
4. Waste Disposal:
   • Proper disposal methods for hazardous asbestos waste in accordance with MA / EPA regulations.
5. Documentation:
   • The contractor must provide:
