Food Waste Composting Services

Project Description: Los Alamos County is requesting Proposals from qualified and experienced firms to collect, transport, and process source-separated food waste for its food waste composting program. Because the County does not have the property or infrastructure to operate a composting facility, the selected Offeror will process collected food waste, utilizing County-provided green waste mulch where appropriate, to produce compost for County residents and customers. The program will initially serve commercial generators, including schools, grocery stores, and restaurants, with the potential for future expansion to public drop-off sites and residential curbside collection.
