Overview
Summary

Orlando Venues is seeking a qualified Security Design Consultant to lead the multi-phase modernization of security systems at the Kia Center over the next three years. This initiative will focus on implementing scalable, future-ready security infrastructure that enhances safety, operational readiness, and the guest experience. Upon successful implementation, the engagement may expand to include Camping World Stadium, Harry P. Leu Gardens, the Mennello Museum, and additional future venue developments.

The consultant will be responsible for providing subject matter expertise and design guidance across key security investment areas, including:

  • Video Surveillance (VMS) and camera systems
  • Access control, credentialing, and intrusion detection systems with VMS integration
  • Security Operations Center (SOC) modernization
  • Bollard replacement and perimeter hardening
  • 2-way radios and repeater system optimization
  • Magnetometers, frictionless screening technologies, crowd control tools, and X-ray equipment
  • Systems integration strategies that improve end-user functionality and maximize existing staff resources through force-multiplying technologies

This engagement presents a unique opportunity to shape the future of venue security in one of the most active entertainment markets in the country. We are seeking a forward-thinking, collaborative partner with a proven track record in large-scale security design, systems integration, and operational innovation.

Background

Orlando Venues operates a diverse and dynamic portfolio of facilities—including the Kia Center, Camping World Stadium, and cultural landmarks like Harry P. Leu Gardens and the Mennello Museum—that host millions of guests annually. With a strong commitment to public safety, operational excellence, and guest satisfaction, we recognize the critical need to modernize our security infrastructure to meet the evolving demands of live events and large-scale operations.

To support this transformation, over $15.8 million in capital improvements are planned through 2034. These investments focus on enhancing surveillance, access control, emergency response capabilities, and overall guest and staff safety. Planned improvements include replacing aging legacy systems, modernizing the Security Operations Center (SOC), hardening perimeter security, and integrating cutting-edge technologies such as frictionless screening, crowd management tools, and upgraded communication systems.

This initiative represents more than a technical upgrade—it’s a strategic opportunity to reimagine how our venues approach safety and security. The consultant selected for this project will play a pivotal role in shaping a forward-looking, user-friendly, and fully integrated security environment. Success will be measured by the ability to create scalable designs that strengthen incident response, simplify system operation for frontline users, and enhance the guest experience across every touchpoint.
