Software Integration Lab Notice of Intent - Brand Name Corning Edge Multi-Classification System

In accordance with Section 888(a) of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2017 (FY17) (Public Law 114-328) as implemented by Defense Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) 206.302-1(c)(2), the justification and approval (J&A) addressed in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.303 is required to use brand name or equal descriptions for the Corning Edge Multi-Classification System in the firm-fixed price construction contract for the Software Integration Lab at Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma. The Software Integration Lab will be constructed within Building 9201 which requires a large amount of fiber optic cabling. Installation of the Corning Edge Multi-Classification System allows for significant reduction in fiber optic cabling, reduces the need for larger pathways, system furniture, and rack space thus producing a considerable cost savings.

All responsible sources may submit a capability statement which shall be considered by the agency. The submission must be received no later than 10:00AM Central Standard Time on 25 February 2025 to brian.j.welch@usace.army.mil.
