Description
The Contractor must remove and dispose of garbage and recycling material from Edmonton Institution for Women as per the specifications below. Any variance from the schedule must be agreed upon by the Project Authority.
• The Contractor must supply a total of eleven (10) standard 6-cubic-yard containers; the containers must come with two-piece metal lids that are lockable and Bear proof.
• The pick-ups for both garbage and recycling materials at Edmonton Institution for Women must be made between 0300 to 0500 hours. Garbage containers must be collected on Monday and Thursday or Tuesday and Friday. Recycling containers must be collected on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday. Scheduled pick-up days will be agreed to upon contract award.
• All garbage containers must be collected twice per week.
• All recycling containers must be collected once per week.
• The pick-up vehicle must undergo a Security Inspection upon entry and must be escorted by Institutional Staff at all times.
• The containers at Edmonton Institution for Women must be locked using locks supplied by the Institution. Institutional Staff will lock and unlock the containers.
• The pick-up vehicle must fully compact each container of garbage before moving to the next container.
• The Contractor is responsible for all maintenance of the supplied containers. Containers must be exchanged for clean ones as required.
• The Contractor is responsible for disposal of the garbage and recyclables in an environmentally friendly manner following applicable City, Provincial and Federal regulations and guidelines.
• If any non-scheduled pickups are required, pickup times shall be agreed to by the Institution and the Contractor. These pickups will be charged as an “Additional Pick Up”.
The estimated contract period will be 60 month(s), with a proposed start date of 2025/04/01.
