Synopsis
This posted announcement is a Pre-Solicitation Synopsis of a proposed contract action in accordance with FAR Subpart 5.207.
The Mission Installation Contracting Command - Fort Leavenworth intends to issue an Invitation for Bid (IFB).
The purpose of this requirements is to demolish and replace the existing steam boiler and associated equipment in The USDB Prison’s E134 mechanical room. In addition to the steam boiler replacement, the work will also include the replacement of three corroded electrical panels (one 150A MCB and two 600A MLO) and one 45 kVA step-down transformer located in a boiler room. The existing equipment is deteriorating due to direct exposure to steam, chemicals and high humidity conditions. The replacement work will include furnishing and installing NEMA 4X-rated stainless steel equipment to mitigate environmental damage and comply with NEC 110.11 and 450.9.
Mechanical Work
a. Demolition – Mechanical/Electrical Room E134
1) STB-E01 steam boiler and associated piping/valves.
2) Feedwater Tank and associated skid components.
3) Two Feedwater Pumps
4) Two pressure reducing valves and associated piping/valves.
5) Makeup water valve assembly.
6) Steam control valve assembly.
7) All steam boiler flue vent ducting
New Installation Work – Mechanical/Electrical Room E134
1) Install a new boiler skid that meets the following specifications:
2. Total capacity of 300 HP and 6800 MBH
3. 150 PSIG
4. Natural Gas Fired
5. Three vertical steam boilers included on skid
6. Burners shall be located on the front of the boiler not the top.
7. These boilers shall provide redundancy to the serviced areas.
8. Includes blowdown system.
9. Includes 40-gallon chemical feed system.
10 Minimum of 5:1 turndown per boiler.
Anticipates award will be made to a responsible bidder whose bid, conforming to the invitation for bids; will be most advantageous to the Government, considering only price and the price-related factors included in the invitation. This anticipated contract will be Firm Fixed Price.
