Description
Oregon State University intends to contract for the provision of GDN detergent and related reagents from Calibre Scientific as a sole source because of the uniqueness (chemical composition, patent exclusivity, compatibility) of the product and the contractor being the single provider of the goods. The selected product must meet minimum specifications including effective solubilization of cell membranes, low critical micelle concentration for structural studies, non-ionic properties to preserve protein structure, and exceptional gentleness to maintain protein-protein and lipid-protein interactions. Additionally, the detergent must be a single pure substance to avoid clogging sensitive instrument solvent lines. An entity may appeal this determination in accordance with OSU Standard 03-010, Section 5.17 no later than the closing date indicated on the website.
