Toxicology Services

The purpose and intent of this Request for Proposal ("RFP") is to select a contractor that can provide forensic toxicology services for death investigations. Proposers must be licensed and accredited by an accreditation body that is a signatory to the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) Mutual Recognition Arrangement and offer forensic laboratory accreditation services or a major accreditation body acceptable to the Internation Association of Coroners and Medical Examiners (IACME) and the National Association of Medical Examiners (NAME). More details of services to be performed is set forth in the Scope of Work below.

The County Coroner's Office promptly investigates and determines the mode, manner, and cause of death of decedents under the Coroner's jurisdiction. In order to determine the cause of death, our forensic pathologists perform about 500 autopsies a year and submit certain specimens for forensic laboratory testing.
