Description

DeKalb Brilliance Academy (¿DBA¿) is a nonprofit public charter school and seeks competitive sealed
proposals from general contractors licensed in Georgia for the adaptive reuse of an existing building located at
2364 Park Central Blvd., Stonecrest, GA to a 650 - 700 student K-8 campus. Currently, DBA is serving 250
students in grades K-3 and plans to add a grade annually until full enrollment. Founded in 2022, DBA provides
the families and students of DeKalb County access to a high-quality education focused on empowering students
through rigorous academics and project-based learning.
The scope of work for this project involves repurposing approximately 76,000 SF into educational space. There
are two buildings on the property, an approximately 66,000 SF building with warehouse and office space, as
well as an approximately 10,000 SF building with production lab space. The general contractor will be
responsible for converting the warehouse into a highly functional and appealing educational environment within
defined budget constraints. The only scope to the production lab space will be minimal security upgrades.
The expected substantial completion of this project is June 2, 2025, ensuring readiness by July 2025 for the start
of the academic year. With an assumed 6-month construction phase, the demolition is anticipated to begin in
December, 2024 and the renovation to commence in January, 2025 once the building permit has been approved.
