Title: Pacific-Beach Roundabout Enhancements
Addenda: 0
Release Date: 5/23/2025
Due Date: 6/19/2025
The purpose of the Pacific-Beach Roundabout Improvement project (c402507) is to provide a new bike lane crossing of the railroad tracks at the northeast portion of the Pacific-Beach roundabout at the head of the Wharf. The new northbound bike lane will provide a near perpendicular crossing of the railroad tracks, which is the recommended crossing method. It includes widening the street by approximately 5 feet which requires demolition of a portion of the street, decorative sidewalk, curb and gutter, utilities, and a retaining wall. Construction includes new and relocated public improvements, such as new decorative sidewalks, curb and gutter and paving; streetlights, Railroad Flashing Light Assembly and utility relocations; storm drain; new retaining wall and either reused or new guard railing; striping and signage.
The project is adjacent to 3 business that require access coordination with the owners and tenants. The project is intended to start after Labor Day, on or around September 2, 2025.
The Railroad Flashing Light Assembly relocation and related work can only be performed by Summit Signals, and the contractor will be required to have them as a subcontractor to facilitate coordination and construction. Flagging may be required for the Roaring Camp recreational railroad. An allowance is provided for this on the bid sheet.
