Description
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) intends to issue a noncompetitive modification to Contract No.31310024C0013 with the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA), in accordance with FAR 6.302-1— "Only One Responsible Source." WMATA is the sole owner and operator of the Washington Metrorail System, making it the only source capable of supporting the NRC's employee transit subsidy program.
This modification will increase the contract ceiling by $3,000,000—from $1,250,000 to $4,250,000—to provide additional monthly transportation subsidies for eligible NRC employees. This action supports compliance with the Return to In-Person Work Executive Order (Federal Register Document 2025-01907), which mandates the end of remote work and a full return to duty stations across all Executive Branch agencies.
This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. No solicitation will be issued via the Government Point of Entry (GPE). For further information, please contact the point of contact listed above.
