Wanuskewin Heritage Park currently offers two online video series entitled “Learning for Reconciliation” and “kiskêyihtamowin: learning through experiences”. These videos are primarily focused on the dispelling of common “myths” or stereotypes frequently attributed to Indigenous Peoples across North America, detailing specific aspects of Indigenous History within Canada, as well as offering online alternatives to the programming offered in-person at the park. As Indigenous cultures and knowledge are inextricably linked to the land on which we live, we hope to enhance this video programming by offering additional video series focused on the interconnections between cultures and the land, through engagement with Elders, Knowledge Keepers, Wanuskewin staff and local experts. To accomplish this, Wanuskewin is seeking consultation services to;
- Meet and consult with Wanuskewin Staff, Knowledge Keepers, Indigenous Elders, and local experts through several in-person sessions.
- Develop project work plans, content strategies, episodic outlines and draft scripts.
- Complete all planning activities required to facilitate production, including filming schedules, locations, logistics, equipment, storyboards, and accessibility planning.
- Focus content of one video series on environmental/ecological topics, such as Indigenous Land Stewardship and land management, with the second video series focusing on assisting corporations and business owners with fulfilling and complying with regularity requirements
such as Duty to Consult, alongside general best practices regarding interacting, communicating, and working with local First Nations communities.
