Computer Assisted coding
The University of Connecticut Health Center (UConn Health) is requesting proposals from qualified organizations to provide a computer assisted coding (CAC) solution. UConn Health wants to upgrade the current coding solution with a solution integrated with natural language processing that is capable of interfacing with the electronic health record system that is in use today. The overarching goal of this project will be to increase coding and billing efficiency, which would, in turn, shorten the time between the date of service and reimbursement to recoup a portion of the cost.
