CI 5725 Street Lighting on Avenida De Los Arboles

The City of Thousand Oaks is planning installation of new streetlights (17) along one of the City’s arterial roadways to improve nighttime visibility for pedestrians, bicyclists, motorists, and nearby residents. The project is located along a segment (approx. one mile) of Avenida De Los Arboles, west of Highway 23, and will install underground conduits (approx. 3,650 LF), pullboxes, and restoration of existing facilities in preparation of streetlight construction by Southern California Edison (SCE).

The project also includes full-width street overlay (approx. 9,100 SF) on Calle Abedul, after trenching and conduit installation, to meet the City’s pavement rehabilitation standards.

Avenida De Los Arboles is one of City’s main arterial roadways, and along the project limits, the street contains only five existing streetlights with on-street parking and Class II bike lanes in each direction. The City, with assistance from Southern California Edison, have developed plans to install additional streetlights to improve visibility for all modes of transportation. Currently, within the project limits, this roadway has five existing streetlights concentrated near the North Oaks Plaza commercial complex.

As part of this project and due to trenching operation needed to install conduits, small portion of Calle Abedul (approx. 250 LF) will require full-width pavement restoration to meet the City’s pavement rehabilitation standards.
