Summary

The County of Tuolumne through its Public Works Engineering (“County”) is seeking bids from qualified firms to provide structural debris and hazard tree removal operations in an expedited manner while ensuring the protection of public health, safety, and the environment.

Background

On September 2, 2025, Tuolumne County experienced a series of lightning strikes that ignited multiple wildfires, impacting the entire county. These fires caused significant damage to the community, including the destruction of numerous buildings within the historical landmark area of Chinese Camp. In response, Tuolumne County is undertaking post-wildfire debris removal under the California Disaster Assistance Act (CDAA) Phase I and Phase II programs. This work protects public health and safety by removing hazardous materials—such as heavy metals and asbestos—preventing environmental contamination, and supporting the community’s recovery and rebuilding efforts.
