Sign Language Interpreting (SLI) Services

Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD) is committed to providing reasonable accommodations and communication access to individuals who need communication support. Under Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), state and local government entities are required to ensure effective communication with individuals who have disabilities. This includes providing qualified sign language interpreters (SLIs) or other appropriate auxiliary aids and services when necessary to afford individuals with hearing disabilities an equal opportunity to participate in and benefit from public services, programs, and activities. OOD provides sign language interpreting (SLI) and/or deaf interpreting (DI) to OOD employees for a variety of meetings, trainings, and forums throughout the state.

OOD is seeking vendors to supply on-site and/or remote SLI/DI services in all eighty-eight (88) Ohio counties . Respondent’s response must include the hourly rate for on-site services, in a minimum, of one (1) Ohio county.

A) OOD shall base the award on lowest cost.

B) OOD will also base the award on the respondent that is responsive, responsible, and able to complete the work described in the summary.

Mailed, emailed, or faxed responses will NOT be accepted.
