The primary objective of this study is to assess the overall condition and structural integrity of the apron and fishway and provide recommendations for repair, rehabilitation, or replacement as required. The assessment will include a detailed evaluation of the deteriorated concrete apron, including the extent of concrete deterioration, the effectiveness of ongoing repairs, and the potential presence of voids beneath the structure that may affect its performance and stability. The condition of the fish ladder, with particular attention to the deteriorated steel components, will also need to be evaluated to identify structural deficiencies, maintenance requirements and repair options. The investigation should ideally be carried out in late fall under low-flow conditions, where there is no water flowing over the weir to maximize access to critical structural elements and facilitate a comprehensive inspection. There will be some water flowing through the fish ladder even when the gate is closed due to the deterioration mentioned above. The consultant should plan for a method to inspect the inspect the fish ladder under these conditions.
