Reflecting that growth, the City’s Transforming Greer 2030 Comprehensive Plan prioritizes quality expansion, connectivity, and a thriving downtown core, which anticipates diverse housing types to support community vitality. The local housing landscape includes public housing units and Housing Choice Vouchers administered by the Greer Housing Authority, indicating both existing capacity and continuing demand for affordable options. Additionally, regional housing studies highlight affordability gaps—particularly for low-income and marginalized populations—underscoring the urgency for targeted housing interventions.
