The City of West Des Moines (“Owner”) has contracted with Kraus-Anderson (“KA”) as the Construction Manager at Risk (CMaR) for the MidAmerican Energy Company Rec Plex Ice Rink Addition (“Project”). Pursuant to Iowa Code Chapter 26A, all subcontractors interested in submitting a bid for the Project must first complete the Subcontractor Statement of Qualifications and return to KA as directed below. Only pre-qualified companies will be invited to submit bids. The prequalification form collects key information such as:

Project Information and Description

1. Project Name: MidAmerican Energy Company Rec Plex Ice Rink Addition

2. Project Location: 6500 Grand Ave., West Des Moines, IA 50266

3. Project Designer: ISG, Inc. (216 E. 2nd Street, Suite 110, Des Moines, IA 50309)

4. Project Construction Schedule: March, 2026 - June, 2027

5. Project Description: Addition onto the existing Rec Plex facility as follows:

a. New addition with approximate 66,300SF footprint + +/- 45,100SF 2nd Floor (Total of 111,400SF of space)

b. Addition includes commercial kitchen space, approximately 2,500 fixed seats, 4 luxury suites, locker rooms, open entry atrium, emergency stair wells, elevator, MEFP systems, and connection to the existing building

c. Sitework including site clearing, concrete removal, utility relocation and extension, new parking, site lighting, and landscaping

d. Soil remediation with aggregate piers

e. Ice rink and related systems and equipment

f. Audio and visual systems, Ephesus sports lighting system, score boards, arena seating, and other arena technology

Statement of Qualifications Submission

Questions regarding the Statement of Qualifications are to be submitted to KA no later than Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at 2:00 PM. Please submit all questions through Building Connected. Responses to questions received will be published as a clarification document (addenda) and posted to Building Connected by Thursday, October 30, 2025.

Subcontractor Statement of Qualifications must be received by KA on or before Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at 5:00 PM for qualification evaluation. Submissions received after this time will not be accepted. All Subcontractor Statement of Qualifications must be submitted electronically to the Building Connected website.
