APEX Accelerators are an official government contracting resource for small businesses. Find your local APEX Accelerator (opens in new window) for free government expertise related to contract opportunities.
APEX Accelerators are funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the Department of Defense.
The APEX Accelerators program was formerly known as the Procurement Technical Assistance Program (opens in new window) (PTAP).
The United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Engineering Research and Development Center-Construction Engineering Research Laboratory (ERDC-CERL) READI team has a requirement to procure one (1) annual license for HOMER Grid software that will allow for use on three (3) computers concurrently. ERDC-CERL intends to award a purchase order on a sole source basis to UL LLC in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)(1).
UL LLC is the only source for satisfying the government’s requirements as they are the publisher and sole distributor of HOMER Grid software. HOMER Grid offers a unique platform for optimizing distributed generation resources based on multiple site factors. Other available tools appear to allow for design and optimization of particular types of generation, with photovoltaics being the most common, but do not appear to offer the combined analysis that HOMER performs. HOMER Grid uniquely offers an evaluation of hybrid energy systems and microgrids which are the core competency of the ERDC-CERL READI Team.
HOMER Grid will be used in conjunction with XENDEE Microgrid technoeconomic evaluation tools to produce better microgrid conceptual designs for ERDC-CERL customers.
