25-067 for Notice of Proposed Procurement for Shared Micromobility - E-Scooters and E-Bikes

Shared Micromobility (e-Scooters and e-Bikes) in Calgary is operated by private companies. The City permits two companies to operate under a one-year permit which is renewable for up to a total of 5 years subject to compliance with requirements. There were approximately 6,000,000 trips in last permit cycle (2020-2025).

The current permit cycle (2020-2025) is coming to an end, and The City will be having a competitive application process to select companies for two (2) Permits to provide electric scooters and electric bicycles for rent directly to users, for the 2026-2031 permit cycle.

This Notice of Proposed Procurement has been issued for information purposes only and represents known information at the time of issue. The City of Calgary (The City) makes no guarantee that this project will go forward, and it remains subject to change. No commitment exists under this Notice of Proposed Procurement, and no competitive bid document or further information is currently available. As the project progresses, the competitive bid document will be posted electronically at the City's Contract Management System (SAP Ariba) and Alberta Purchasing Connection in accordance with The City’s standard practice.
