Project: Three (3)-Lane Widening of I-81 from MM 242 to 248
Description: The Virginia Department of Transportation is seeking expressions of interest from engineering consulting firms who wish to be considered to provide Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) services for the construction phase of the Interstate 81 Harrisonburg-Area Widening (Exit 243 to Exit 247) project. The purpose of this project is to improve safety, operations, and reliability along Interstate 81 (I-81) by adding a third travel lane, in both directions. The additional lanes will be added to the inside (median side) between Mile Marker 242.0 and Mile Marker 248.8. This design-bid-build project will be administered by the VDOT Staunton District Construction Office.
