ITB: Root Road Culvert Replacement

INVITATION TO BID

Sealed bids for "Root Road Culvert Replacement, Near #538" will be received until 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 1, 2026 in the Town Manager's Office, Town Hall, 1712 Main Street, Coventry, CT. This project involves the replacement of a partially failed 30" Corrugated Metal Pipe with a 30" High Density Polyethylene Pipe, water handling, removing the existing headwalls and replacing rip rap slope, tree clearing and grubbing, topsoiling and seed, Maintenance and Protection of Traffic and bringing the disturbed roadway to grade with Processed Aggregate Base. The Town of Coventry has obtained a Coventry Inland Wetlands Permit and the contractor shall account for the permit conditions. The perspective bidder shall make themselves aware of the project area prior to submitting bids.

Contract documents, pdf format, can be obtained from the Town's website under Bid Postings at https://www.coventryct.org/bids.aspx. Bidder shall utilize the bid form, 10% bid bond, projected contractor's schedule, qualifications of bidder, and non-collusion forms in the manual.

The work shall be completed by October 23rd with a maximum detour duration of 3 consecutive days.

The Town of Coventry reserves the right to reject all bids, or to waive any technical defects, and to make an award to the party determined to be the lowest cost, responsive and responsible bidder if it is deemed to be in the best interest of the Town.

No Bidder may withdraw their bid within thirty (30) days after the actual date of the opening thereof.
