The project consists of improvements within Riverfront Park. Work will occur within an active public park
environment and shall be coordinated to minimize disruption to park operations and public use. Contractors
shall be responsible for verifying existing field conditions, coordinating with City staff, and maintaining a safe
work area at all times.
INTENT
The intent of this Request for Quote (RFQ) is to obtain competitive pricing from qualified contractors to furnish
all labor, materials, equipment, and services necessary to construct decorative guardrail and chain barrier
improvements at Riverfront Park.
The project includes the installation of custom fabricated steel guardrails with stainless steel mesh infill and
decorative chain barrier systems, along with associated site work necessary to complete the improvements. All
work shall be performed in accordance with the plans and specifications and shall result in a consistent,
durable installation that matches the character and quality of existing Riverfront Park improvements.
The City reserves the right to accept or reject any or all quotations, to waive informalities, and to award the
project to the contractor whose proposal is determined to be most advantageous to the City, taking into
consideration price, experience, and the ability to perform the work within the required timeframe.
SCOPE OF WORK
The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, and incidentals necessary to construct decorative
guardrail and chain barrier improvements at Riverfront Park.
The Work includes, but is not limited to:
Furnishing and installing decorative steel guardrail systems, including posts, rails, stainless steel mesh
infill panels, frames, fasteners, and all required accessories.
Furnishing and installing decorative chain barrier systems, including steel posts, side-mounted eyelets,
steel chain, connectors, and concrete footings.
Layout and alignment of all guardrail and chain barrier elements as shown on the plans.
Excavation and installation of concrete footings for chain barrier posts within landscaped areas.
Coordination with existing site conditions, grades, and adjacent improvements.
Restoration of disturbed areas, including mulch replacement and minor grading.
Protection of existing structures, paving, utilities, and landscaping during construction.
Final alignment, adjustment, and cleaning of all installed components.
All work shall be completed in accordance with the plans, details, and specifications and shall result in a
uniform, consistent installation matching existing Riverfront Park improvements.
SPECIFICATIONS
1 GENERAL
A DESCRIPTION
Furnish all labor, materials, equipment, and incidentals necessary to construct decorative
guardrail and chain barrier improvements at Riverfront Park near the MLK Memorial Bridge.
Work includes fabrication, delivery, and installation of all components as shown on the plans
and specified herein.
Completed systems shall provide a durable, uniform, and consistent appearance suitable for
public park use.
