Written proposals addressed to the City Purchasing Department, City Hall, 59 Court Street, Westfield, Massachusetts and endorsed “Franklin Street and Maple Street Crossing Improvements”. - Bid #26-043” Will be received by the Purchasing Department in the Purchasing Office Room 102 of City Hall until 2:00 P.M. June 23, 2026 and at that time publicly opened and read aloud. If for any reason City Hall is closed for an unforeseen reason, bids will be opened on the next normal business day at the same time as indicated above.
The project provides infrastructure improvements on Franklin Street starting at Shepard Street and ending in the intersection with Elm Street in the City of Westfield, Massachusetts. The work includes the Base Bid and Bid Alternatives 1-3 work is the relocation of a traffic signal head at Franklin Street and Elm Street intersection, pavement micro milling and overlay, bike lanes, sidewalk reconstruction, pavement markings, and other incidental items necessary to complete the required work as illustrated on the Plans.
A proposal guarantee of 5% of the Bid shall be required. Minimum wage and dump truck rates have been set. Performance and Payment Bonds: 100% of the Contract Amount.
Estimated cost: $1,380,420.36
“MassDOT prequalification of contractors with the class of work as, Highway Construction for the project with an estimated value of $1,3,80,420.36
will be required.”
Attention is called to the minimum wage rates to be paid on the work as determined by the Commissioner of Labor and Industries under the provisions of Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 149, Sections 26 to 27G, inclusive.
