Description

Please note that this solicitation is not ready to be issued as of this date. The Embassy of the United States of America in Lisbon, Portugal, will launch the solicitation on www.sam.gov website when it becomes available.



The Embassy of the United States of America in Lisbon intends to issue a Request for Quotation for a project that involves the comprehensive refurbishment of the commercial kitchen and the pantry at the Chief of Mission Residence. The primary objective is to modernize the kitchen to meet the highest standards of functionality, safety, and aesthetics, in line with the U.S. Department of State Overseas Buildings Operations Food Service Equipment Standards 2017 for Representational Residences.



Components to be Upgraded:




  1. Kitchen Layout: Implement a new kitchen layout to optimize workflow and space utilization.

  2. Appliances: New appliances shall be applied and installed to meet the latest standards for efficiency, safety, quality and performance for commercial kitchens.

  3. Cabinetry and Storage: Supply and Install new stainless-steel cabinetry and storage solutions that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing.

  4. Plumbing and Electrical Systems: Update plumbing and electrical infrastructure to ensure compliance with current safety standards. Relocate plumbing and electrical supplies withing the kitchen space to meet the needs of the new kitchen space plan provided.

  5. Flooring: Supply and install new flooring with slip resistant, non-porous, full body porcelain/quarry/or stone tile.

  6. Walls and ceilings: Shall be repainted and retiled to be smooth, non-porous, washable and water repellent.

  7. Lighting: New modern fixtures shall be supplied and installed to include under cabinet LED lighting.

  8. Pantry: Supply and Installation of marble/stainless steel work bench and cabinets as per supplied space plan. Pantry will be converted to cool room capable of achieving a temperature of 8 degrees C by supplying and installing a new HVAC unit and insulating walls and door as required.

  9. Finishes and Fixtures: Enhance the kitchen with high-quality finishes and fixtures that align with the representational standards.



The Government intends to award a contract resulting from this solicitation to the lowest priced technically acceptable offeror who is a responsible contractor. The Government may award the contract based on the initial offer without discussion. The resultant contract will be a firm fixed price type contract.



The Government is planning a pre-quotation conference, and the date will be in the solicitation.



All contractors must be registered in the SAM (System for Award Management) Database https://www.sam.gov prior to contract award pursuant to FAR provision 5.207. Therefore, prospective offerors are encouraged to register prior to the submittal of quotation/proposals.
