GENERAL
This Specification depicts conditions as they are supposed, or believed by the City to exist. The
City does not warrant the completeness or accuracy of such information. It is the Contractor's
responsibility to ascertain the existence of any conditions affecting the cost of work.
Bidders are required to conduct their own investigations as to the existing conditions affecting
the Work to be accomplished. If the Bidder chooses not to visit the site(s) or conduct
investigations, the Bidder will nevertheless be charged with the knowledge of conditions which
reasonable inspection and investigation would have disclosed.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION & LOCATION
A. The project consists of furnishing all necessary labor, materials, tools, equipment,
machinery, supplies, traffic control, safety measures, and appurtenant Work necessary
to replace the approximately 180 SF concrete slab located at CFD 2 Westport At
Mandalay Bay Park.
B. The project site is situated within the CFD 2 Westport community near the intersections
of Wooley Dr and Chesapeake Dr in Oxnard CA. Please refer to the location marker and
photographs depicted on Exhibit 1 attached herein for the specific site.

SCOPE OF WORK
Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, tools, equipment, machinery, supplies, traffic
control, safety measures, and appurtenant Work necessary to remove and replace the concrete
slab located at CFD 2 Westport At Mandalay Bay Park. The Work shall conform with ASTM
C94, ASTM C31, ASTM C928, ASTM C309 AND ASTM D1751 standards. Work shall include:
A. Removal and replacement of existing concrete slab in its entirety. Take appropriate
actions to protect adjacent slabs, structures, utilities, landscaping and other
improvements during removal. Picnic tables or other installations within the work area
must be either protected in place or removed prior to the beginning of the work and
reinstalled after the conclusion of the work (but not before project manager inspection.)
B. The Contractor shall provide all tools and equipment necessary to complete the work.
C. Excavate a minimum of (6 inches) to remove any unstable material or organic matter
beneath the slab. Compact the subgrade per ASTM standards. Replace as needed any

unsuitable subgrade material. Verify the subgrade is level, stable, and properly sloped
for drainage before concrete placement.
D. Install formwork as required to maintain slab alignment, thickness and grade to be
similar to adjacent concrete slabs. Place minimum thickness of (4 inches) concrete slab
using a standard sidewalk mix C30. Ensure proper finishing, edging, control joints, and
curing methods are used per industry standards. Slope surface to promote positive
drainage to prevent ponding.
E. Disposal of all removed broken/used materials and supplies used or removed to
complete the work. Restore any damaged/disturbed areas.
F. Inspection and acceptance of Work shall be performed by the Project Manager or
Designee. If corrective action is needed, the Contractor shall perform within two (2)
Working Days of notification of the corrective action needed at no additional cost to the
City.

MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT
Work shall be paid per the Bid Schedule at the Contract Price per Lump Sum (LS). The Lump
Sum Total Bid Price shall be considered full compensation for furnishing all necessary labor,
materials, tools, equipment, scheduling, mobilization, demobilization, public convenience and
safety, traffic control, offsite waste disposal, and incidental and appurtenant Work for completing
the Project in accordance with The Americans With Disabilities Act (“ADA”), California Manual of
Uniform Traffic Control Devices, latest edition (“MUTCD”), Caltrans Standard Specifications
Section 37 or equivalent state/local standards, material manufacturer’s guidelines, and industry
best practices.

SCHEDULE
Contractor must complete all Work within twenty (20) Working Days following issuance of the
City’s Notice to Proceed. There will be a $250 assessment for each Calendar Day that Work
remains incomplete beyond the Project completion deadline.
