Project Description: The Sunbury Municipal Authority is currently seeking bids for the removal, grading, and resurfacing of pavement at the Sunbury Municipal Water Plant, located at 1600 Market Street, Sunbury, PA 17801. This project is being undertaken to address deteriorated pavement conditions throughout critical access and operational areas of the facility. The goal is to restore the integrity and performance of the pavement surface, enhance positive drainage around all structures, and ensure long-term durability through the application of a new asphalt layer and a properly compacted stone subbase where required.
The work includes removing and milling 1,600 square yards of existing two-and-a-half-inch asphalt pavement, followed by grading the exposed surface where necessary to promote effective drainage away from the building (up to 100 square yards). The contractor will then install 1,500 square yards of two-and-a-half-inch Superpave 12.5-millimeter wearing course. In addition, an area on the west side of the building will be improved with a two-and-a-half-inch compacted layer of PennDOT 2A aggregate stone, covering 100 square yards.
Bidders shall submit pricing for the full scope of work, including prices based on the unit quantities provided for all applicable materials. The selected contractor will furnish all labor, materials, and equipment, and must coordinate access and operations with Sunbury Municipal staff to avoid disruption to ongoing facility functions.
