Notice of Intent to Award a Noncompetitive Purchase of 12 Railcar Interior Crew Switch Assemblies From Fuji Semec Corp

Project Description: The Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit District (SMART) is a Government Transportation Special District within the State of California that owns, maintains, and operates passenger rail service and freight rail service in Sonoma County and Marin County within the State of California.
SMART is issuing this Notice of Intent to award a non-competitive, negotiated purchase order to Fuji Semec Corp for the purchase of twelve (12) Railcar Interior Crew Switch Assembly Units (Manufacturer Part #: SP33570-1), originally manufactured by Fuji Electric Japan, because it is SMART’s understanding that the only available source to supply these Original Equipment Manufacturer parts is from Fuji Semec Corp.
The estimated value of this purchase is $46,000.
If upon review of this Notice, vendors or suppliers determine that they can legally supply these specific parts to SMART, SMART requests that those suppliers submit a response to this Notice of Intent.
Any responses received shall be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement rather than proceeding with this sole-source negotiated contract if competition exists.
