Title: Vehicle Service Pit Upgrades
Addenda: 0
Release Date: 7/18/2025
Due Date: 8/14/2025
Ben Franklin Transit is requesting proposals from qualified Contractors (hereinafter referred to as “Contractor”) interested in providing Vehicle Service Pit Upgrades in the BFT Maintenance building. The scope of work for the upgrades to include, but not limited to, prepare and level flooring, recoat industrial finishes, upgrade lighting fixture to LED, replace worn service reels, drains, tanks and lines and install safety device to secure open pits when not in use. BFT provides public transportation services covering a 625-square mile area located in Benton and Franklin Counties. The area includes the cities of Kennewick, Pasco, Richland, West Richland, Benton City, Prosser and adjacent unincorporated areas of Benton and Franklin County.
The service pits in the bus maintenance bays are used to perform required preventative and corrective maintenance service and repair. The finishes are original to the 1984 build and in need of refinishing. The flooring slopes away from current drainage making it difficult to thoroughly clean surfaces, and current oil waste tanks and lines need replaced to prevent leakage. Installing pit cover/fall protection will ensure maintenance staff safety while pits are not in use. Replacement LED lighting will provide well-lit areas for staff to safely work.
