Description

This contract is for an eight-year C-type contract, primarily CPFF/FFP contract to resolve obsolescence in the C-17 Flight Deck through an integrated, functional, and modernized open architecture solution approach that also provides updates to the simulators/labs affected. EMD is estimated at five (5) years followed by a 12-month kitproof and ICS support period. There is one (1) 12-month ICS options that will follow the kitproof period. Capabilities will add open systems architecture to the 4 Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) drivers, enabling future modular plug and play, and advancing C-17 flight deck components to current industry standards. Obsolescence will be resolved in the C-17 Flight Deck through the functional and modernized replacement of the 4 LRUs which consist of the Multifunction Display (MFD), Standby Engine Display (SED), Core Integrated Processor (CIP), and Video Integrated Processor (VIP). The services and supplies needed by the agency are available from only one responsible source such as The Boeing Company (88277) and no other type of services or supplies satisfies the needs of the agency.
