    2026 BRIDGE & BOX CULVERT EROSION CONTROL

    The City of Thomasville is accepting informal bids for the project 2026 BRIDGE & BOX CULVERT EROSION CONTROL.
    The Contractor proposes and agrees to contract with the CITY OF THOMASVILLE, GEORGIA to furnish all equipment,
    machinery, tools, apparatus, means of transportation, and labor necessary to complete the following scope of work according to
    GDOT specifications referenced by item number. Work will be executed upon approval and under the general supervision of
    the CITY OF THOMASVILLE CITY ENGINEER.
    SCOPE OF WORK: This project is based on a deficiency report that's provided by GDOT to the City every two years. The
    project will provide erosion stabilizations and streambank protections on the City's Box Culverts and Bridges. This includes
    work on the box culverts on Cairo Road, South Pinetree Boulevard, Clay Street, MLK @ Felix Street, Edgewood Drive, and
    Cassidy Road. Additionally erosion control will be provided on the MLK and Chatham Road Bridges. This work includes the
    installation of rock check dams, rip rap in the ditches and in the streams.
    All construction will comply with GDOT Specifications, 2021 Edition. All work is to be completed within forty (40)
    consecutive calendar days following receipt of the notice to proceed.

    The work done under this Agreement, except as noted otherwise, shall be done in accordance with the below
    numbered Sections of the Georgia Department of Transportation, State of Georgia, Standard Specifications for
    Construction of Transportation Systems, 2021 Edition, with the additions, omissions, exceptions, and deletions noted.
    150 - TRAFFIC CONTROL

    Contractor shall furnish all material, labor, and equipment necessary to control traffic and to ensure the safety of all
    parties concerned.

    clearing, grubbing, removing, disposing vegetation and debris within the limits of construction and easement areas
    adjacent to the right-of-way.

    210 - GRADING COMPLETE

    Grading Complete includes clearing and grubbing and all items of removal not included on the Summary of Quantities or

    The contractor will install Miscellaneous Erosion Control Items and complete Item 210-0100 Grading Complete for the
    entire project prior to any other work.

    When removing fences, do not allow livestock to escape. If fences are to be reset according to Section 611, protect the
    spelter coating of fence fabric, steel fence posts, and braces. The Engineer will require that reusable posts removed be
    clean and free of concrete. If desired, furnish new posts instead of cleaning the old ones at no additional cost to the
    Department.
