Project Description: Provide all labor necessary to replace the fire pump controller and transfer switch
as indicated in the plans and specifications. The proposed work shall generally
include removal, disposal and replacement of the pump’s controller and transfer
switch. Replace the fire pump control panel per manufacturer’s specifications. Start-
up the pump per manufacturer’s recommendations and perform system checks to confirm
proper operations. Submit all data collected to the university of Hawaii facilities
management office, attention: Carl Oshiro prior to request for final inspection. All
work located in the Post, UHM.

Special Instructions
ALL bidders are requested to attend a mandatory site walk-through. A site walk through is
scheduled for 8:00 a.m. on Friday February 13, 2026. Contractors shall meet at the
Physical Plant Mechanical Engineer Office located at 2002 East- West Road. Contract
documents will be distributed at the mandatory walk through. Contractors interested in
bidding this work must contact Carl Oshiro through email ( coshiro6@hawaii.edu), facsimile
(956-5979) or phone (956-0479) to confirm attendance by 4:00 p.m. Thursday February 12,
2026. Contractors who DO NOT attend a mandatory site walk-through will not be allowed to
bid on this work. Contractor is required to provide a cost breakdown at time of bid. The
breakdown must equal to the total cost of the bid. If correct breakdown is not provided at
time of bid, the bid may be disqualified.
