The Contractor will be required to furnish and install, through self- performance or the management of Subcontractors, the following elements of work, including but not limited to: Complete pre-abatement unit cleanout to accommodate abatement, abatement of hazardous materials, demolition and all material, and disposal of 38 residential buildings or 211 units. Fill unit foundations with soil stockpiles on site. If soil is not present, and Contractor shall import material as described in the contract documents.
Plans, specifications, addenda, and plan holders’ list for this project will be available on-line through Builder’s Exchange of Washington, Inc. at http://www.bxwa.com . Access to project bid documents is provided to Prime Bidders, Subcontractors, and Vendors by going to www.bxwa.com and clicking on "Posted Projects", "Public Works", and "Seattle Housing Authority". This online plan room provides Bidders with fully usable online documents with the ability to: download, view, print, order full/partial plan sets from numerous reprographic sources, and a free online digitizer/take-off tool. It is recommended that Bidders “register” in order to receive automatic e-mail notification of future addenda and to place themselves on the “Self-Registered Bidders List". Bidders that do not register will not be automatically notified of addenda and will need to check the on-line plan room for addenda issued on this project. INVITATION TO BID
6166 NORTHGATE ABATEMENT AND DEMOLITION
The Seattle Housing Authority ("SHA") invites sealed bids from qualified contractors for
the NORTHGATE ABATEMENT AND DEMOLITION located at 11200 1ST AVE NE
SEATTLE, WA 98125. The work generally consists of the abatement and demolition of
Northgate Commons, which consists of (39) separate 2-story buildings, a total of 67,000
total buildings and approximately 20,000 sf of carport. See drawings and specifications
for complete details.
BID SUBMITTAL: Sealed bids will be received until 2:00 PM on Tuesday, July 14, 2026,
after which time bids will be publicly opened and read. Each bid must be accompanied
by a surety company bid bond, or a certified or cashier's check payable to the order of
the Seattle Housing Authority for a sum not less than five percent (5%) of the total amount
of the bid. No bidder may withdraw its bid for a period of sixty (60) calendar days after
the required bid submission date.
PRE-BID SITE VISIT: SHA will conduct two site visits on the following dates:
1. 1st SITE VISIT: Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at 2:00 PM Pacific Time (PT).
2. 2nd SITE VISIT: Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at 2:00 PM Pacific Time (PT).
The meeting location is being held at 11060 2nd Ave NE, Seattle, WA 98125.
Site visits will take approximately 1 hour. The site will be open for parking.
All prospective bidders are strongly encouraged to attend. Non-attendance on the part of
the Bidder shall not relieve the bidder of any responsibility for adherence to any of the
provisions of the bid documents or any Addenda.
