Proposal For Landscape Services
At
Dona Spring Animal Shelter
Due: 02/20/26 by 5 p.m.
The City of Berkeley Animal Services seeks competitive written proposals for Landscape Services at the Dona Spring Animal Shelter located at 1 Bolivar Drive, Berkeley, CA.
The work to be done includes:
• Contractor will provide all landscaping equipment and supplies necessary to fulfill the obligations of the Scope of Services (SOS).
• Contractor shall provide routine landscape services.
• Contractor shall provide an itemized invoice for work completed.
• The Contractor shall not perform work during shelter business hours, 10 am to 4 pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, and 10 am to 7 pm on Wednesdays so as not to interfere with shelter operations.
• The Contractor must follow all Bay-Friendly Landscaping Guidelines and abide by all pertinent City of Berkeley regulations.
SERVICES TO BE PROVIDED
• Maintenance of lawns: mowing, edging, and weeding
• Blowing and cleanup of hardscape: pathways, curbs and parking lot
• Prune shrubs as necessary to
o Maintain growth within space limitations
o Eliminate diseased or damaged growth
o Maintain natural appearance
• Irrigation: monitoring, adjusting, repairing and replacement of broken irrigation lines and sprinkler heads
• All services provided in accordance with Bay Friendly Practices
Instructions to vendors
Pricing proposal:
On company letterhead, submit a signed, firm, proposal to accomplish the project described in the quote. Provide monthly pricing.
Site Visit:
There will be the opportunity for a site visit on Monday, February 9th, 2026, at 10:30 a.m.; please reach out to the project manager if you would like to attend. Visiting the site is not mandatory to submit a bid.
The selected firm will need to sign City of Berkeley contract documents and social responsibility attestations, and have the City endorsed as an additional insured party on their insurance.
