The Santa Fe National Forest is pursuing road maintenance activities to be accomplished on the Coyote Ranger District. Base items include drain dip construction, road widening, aggregate surfacing, road reconditioning, and culvert replacement. Drain dip construction will involve the excavation and compaction of approximately 300 cubic yards of native material. Road widening will involve the excavation and compaction of approximately 530 cubic yards of native material and will result in total road widths of twelve (12) feet. Aggregate surfacing will involve the furnishing, placement, and compaction of 1800 tons of aggregate. Road reconditioning will involve ditch maintenance, shoulder maintenance, and roadbed maintenance along a length of 6.5 miles. Lastly, culvert replacement will involve the placement of one round corrugated metal pipe with a diameter of 36 inches and a length of 30 feet on top of approximately 15 cubic feet of uncompacted bedding material.
