Description

The Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory is searching for a qulaified contractor to perform the following services



Subcontractor shall perform the following tasks and provide associated documentation.

5.1.1 Provide experienced personnel to inspect transformers and take required samples from oil

filled transformers at PPPL at a mutually agreed upon time. All sampling containers and

transport to subcontractors’ analyses facilities shall be provided by the subcontractor and

include in the pricing schedule.

5.1.2 Perform appropriate analyses of oil samples in subcontractor’s laboratory. Most samples will

be mineral oil. Silicone and bio-based oils will be identified in the sampling plan (if part of

routine analyses) or on individual samples. Transformers requiring these analyses will be

identified by the PTR. Subcontractor may use alternate ASTM methods to those called out in

the SOW.

1. Oil Screen Analyses shall include the following.

a. Neutralization Number ASTM D 974

b. Interfacial Tension (IFT) ASTM D 971

c. Relative Density (Specific Gravity) ASTM D 1298

d. Color ASTM D 1500

4. Discretionary Analyses

Subcontractor shall also offer other analyses on a sample by sample basis, including the

following.

d. Metals in Oil ASTM D 3635

5.1.3 Subcontractor may properly dispose of sample remains 6 months after analysis.
