Scope of Work: The Iowa DOT is seeking competitive bids from qualified contractors to furnish all materials, labor and equipment necessary for the removal and increase canvas door opening in the front and back end panels. Furnish and install new 18' wide x 20' tall canvas doors. Contractor to field verify size and additional vertical support framing and accessories needed to increase door sized. Usable opening height maybe 30" less. Contractor to provide and install new ratchets and strapping to replace damaged ones. New attachment to be located on the exterior of the concrete tee. Final quantity to be confirmed with DOT project manager and onsite garage contact following award of project. Minimum quantity of 9 and max of 18. Estimated project start date: 4/7/2025 (The date shall be coordinated with the IDOT Project Manager. Existing hoop to be empty of salt mid April. (This is the estimated start date after all required documents are received (i.e., Insurance, performance bond and vendor signed contract). Estimated project end date: 5/30/2025 (This includes resolution to all punch list items, inspections and DOT acceptance typically used in construction bids). Contract Award It is the intent of the Iowa DOT to award the contract to the responsible contractor whose submitted quote is the most advantageous to the Iowa DOT, cost and other factors considered. Other factors include, but are not limited to: meeting or exceeding mandatory requirements, proposed staffing, and meeting required time schedule. Other factors may also include a comprehensive review of bidders past work performance, and work capacity. One contract will be awarded for all items. All items are tied. Site Visits: A site visit is recommended and will be accommodated prior to submitting a bid to ensure the vendor has access to view the job site. To schedule a site visit, contractors must contact the Purchasing Agent overseeing the bid at julie.brown@iowadot.us with a date and time of when you want to conduct a site visit. Contractors will be required to bring their own equipment needed for the site visit. No considerations or revision in the contract price or scope of the project will be considered by the Iowa DOT for any item which could have been revealed by a thorough on-site inspection and examination. All questions related to this project are to be submitted through the Ionwave bid system through the cut off period for question submissions.
