Bow Recreation Center Addition
The Town of Bow is requesting bids for the construction of an addition at the Bow Recreation Center,
21 Bow Center Rd Bow NH 03304.
Sealed proposals clearly labeled “Bow Recreation Center Addition” must be submitted no later
than 10:00 a.m. on April 13, 2026 at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud at 10
Grandview Rd Bow NH 03304. No faxed or unsealed bids will be considered.
The Town of Bow reserves the right to reject any bid, or any part of bids, or all bids and to waive
any formality or technicality in any bid in the interest of the Town of Bow.
**Project timeline; Project to be completed by July 31, 2026
There will be no pre-bid meeting; bidders are encouraged to tour the site prior to bid
submission.

Bow Recreation Center Addition
STANDARD INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS
Part 1. Project
The Town of Bow is soliciting bids for the construction of an addition and associated site work at
the Bow Recreation Center, 21 Bow Center Rd Bow NH 03304.
Part 2. Scope and Specifications
2.1 Project detail and additional requirements can be found on the building plans created by
Alternative Designs labeled 26-062. Digital copies can be obtained by contacting the
facilities manager at candrews@bownh.gov.
2.2 Additional site work details:
A. 4” Perforated PVC perimeter drain shall be installed and tied into existing perimeter
drain
B. Relocated sidewalk shall be prepped for paving by others
C. Excavated materials can be delivered to the Town’s pit on Allen Rd
D. Sand can be obtained from the Town’s pit on Allen Rd at no cost, will need to
coordinate with the Town.
E. Additional work to accommodate existing drainage, irrigation or other work shall be
coordinated with the Town and shall be billed to the Town on a time and material basis
2.3 Interior details
A. Existing floor and new subfloor SHALL meet at the same elevation
B. First floor walls and ceiling will be ½” drywall; One (1) coat primed, One (1) coat
finished. primer and paint supplied by the Town (contractor shall coordinate with the
Town for amount and preferred product)
C. Ceilings; smooth
D. Doors: match existing design

E. Insulation
1. Exterior walls: BIB system preferred 6” (R24)
2. Basement ceiling: Fiberglass batts 6” (R30)
3. Attic: Blown-in, batts where needed (R49)
F. Floor finish
1. Office spaces; Luxury Vinyl Plank with vinyl cove base; materials to be
supplied by the Town, contractor shall coordinate with the Town for amount
2. First floor subfloor painted One (1) coat with floor paint, paint to be supplied
by the Town, contractor shall coordinate with the Town for amount and
preferred product with vinyl cove base, supplied by the Town.
2.4 Electrical:
A. One (1) 200 Amperage subpanel to be installed in new addition
B. Outlet placement dictated by code
C. Switches, basement three-way at stair locations
D. Switches, first floor storage three-way at each door
E. Cable/Phone one box in each office, location coordinated with the Town
1. Town will supply the cable, two cables at each box
F. LED Recessed downlight throughout, “puck’ style
G. Four (4) exterior lights (supplied), locations to be determined and shall be controlled
by a timer (supplied)
H. Fire Alarm, coordinate with the Town
I. One (1) HVAC disconnect switch installed, location to be coordinated, size will be
coordinated with the HVAC installer

2.5 Heating/Cooling: Ductless system “mini splits” one (1) head in each office space
A. Brand shall be Mitsubishi and adequately sized and shall provide heating and
cooling
2.5 Exterior Details
A. Vinyl siding color matched to existing; CertainTeed Mainstreet Series or similar
B. Vinyl corner boards, metal wrapped soffits and rakes
C. Exterior doors; Therma-Tru Fiberglass “Smooth Star” two panel shaker
B. Roofing; IKO 30 yr. color and style to match existing
C. Exterior lighting
1. Four (4) exterior lights supplied by the Town
2. Locations to be determined
3. Light to be controlled by a supplied timer
D. Existing windows shall be removed and reused in new office spaces
2.6 The Town will consider Value Added Engineering where applicable; SHALL be
clearly detailed in the bidding documents if they differ from the original specification.
2.7 The Contractor shall maintain a clean and safe job site. At the conclusion of the work, it
will be the contractor’s responsibility to clean and remove all waste, rubbish and other
debris created by the work and leave the work site in a manner acceptable to the Town
of Bow’s representative. Contractor shall be responsible for dumpster and porta-potti
2.8 The Contractor shall confine the work area to the part of the site where construction is
necessary. Work hours shall be Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Work
outside of these hours on weekends or holidays requires pre-approval by the Town
Manager or designee.
2.9 The Contractor shall coordinate employee parking and material delivery and staging with
the Town.
2.10 The Contractor shall submit in writing any additional work that the contractor feels
should be included and what the total cost will be for each additional item. All requests
for additional work shall require approval from the Town Manager before work is done.
2.11 The Contractor shall submit samples of all materials to be used for approval prior to
beginning the work.

2.12 Application of all materials shall be installed by following the manufacturer’s
installation specifications and applicable codes and standards.
2.13 Schedule of values: Bidder to provide a schedule of values and proposed payment
schedule. The Town of Bow reserves the right to withhold a 5% retainage at each
payment schedule. Any retainage withheld shall be payable upon completion and
acceptance of the work to include final inspection and issuance of Certificate of
Occupancy.
2.14 The Contractor shall start the project on a mutually agreeable date; the Town reserves
the right to choose the contractor best suited to match the Town’s timeline. The work
shall be completed within one hundred and thirty days (130) of the start of the project.
2.15 The Contractor shall provide a one (1) year parts and labor warranty on the systems and
components installed. The start of the warranty shall be upon the date of substantial
completion as determined by the Town of Bow.
2.16 The Contractor receiving the bid shall be responsible for all permitting
requirements. Town permits and inspections are required at no cost to the
contractor
Part 3. Bid Submission Instructions
3.1 One (1) original bid must be submitted in a sealed envelope clearly labeled “Bow
Recreation Center Addition” must be submitted no later than 10 a.m. on April 13,
2026, at which time bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. Bids may be
submitted by mail, courier service, or in person addressed to

3.2 In the case of mailed or third-person delivery, the outer envelope must be clearly
labeled “Bow Recreation Center Addition” and the bid contained in a second sealed
envelope. No faxed or unsealed bids will be considered.
3.3 All information must be submitted in blue ink or typewritten. Errors, alterations, or
corrections must be initialized by the person signing the bid.
3.4 An authorized person representing the legal entity of the bidder must sign bids.
3.5 The inability to meet any specified requirement(s) must be stated in writing and
