The Asylum Application Help Center (AAHC) assists new arrivals in applying for asylum, work authorization, and/or TPS. On a typical day, AAHC files 135 asylum applications and 100 TPS/EADs. AAHC operates five sites: Headquarters (HQ) for AAHC is located at the American Red Cross (ARC), with four satellite sites distributed through Manhattan and Brooklyn. Each satellite site is managed by a Deputy Director (Site Lead). Headquarters is managed by three Deputy Directors (Site Leads). Deputy Directors report up to First Deputy Director to ensures all five sites are operating smoothly and trouble shoots escalated issues as necessary. Responsibilities for staff differ based on location.
