REQUEST FOR BIDS CARPETING
SANILAC COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT
PROJECT SUMMARY
Sanilac County is seeking bids for removal and installation of Approx 2300 square foot of
carpeting/tile and cove base replacement bidder is responsible for getting exact measurements.
Bids must be received no later than 3:00 p.m. on January 12th, 2026 at the Sanilac County
Administration Office, 60 West Sanilac, Room 102, Sandusky, MI 48471.
SCOPE OF WORK
Provide and install ShawContract Terrain II 20 mil in the Timber 00572 color and black
6 inch cove base, with adhesive, subject to onsite measurement by successful bidder.
Remove and dispose of existing carpet/ tile and cove base.
SPECIFICATIONS
Cove Base with adhesive: 6 inch rubber.

LOCATION
Sanilac County Health Department Clinic lobby hallway and clinic rooms
RESPONSIBILITIES
Contractor is responsible for all needed permits and must follow all local, State and
Federal codes.
Contractor is to remove and dispose of existing carpet/tile and cove base.
Contractor is to repair and prep for painting any walls damaged during the removal and
installation process.
Work may need to be completed after hours or on weekends.
County will move loose furniture and equipment, including chairs, file cabinets and
computer equipment.

Contractor is to provide a W-9 form before commencing work.
Contractor is to verify all measurements.
Contractor is to provide all necessary materials, tools, equipment and labor.
All work is to be completed by qualified personnel.
Contractor is responsible for cleaning of the job site and disposing of existing carpet and
base.
Contractor is to commence work as soon as practicable and the bid shall include the
number of calendar days needed to order materials and complete the project.

Health department
Administration Office, 60 West Sanilac Ave., Room 102, Sandusky, MI 48471, no later than
3:00 p.m. on January 12th, 2026. Bids can also be emailed to nlusher@sanilaccounty.net. Bids
must be signed by an authorized representative. Bids received late will not be considered.
Interested bidders must make an appointment to view the project areas and gather
measurements before submitting a bid. Contact Nick Lusher, Buildings and Grounds
Supervisor, at (810) 648-5521 or nlusher@sanilaccounty.net to schedule an appointment.
Any vender or party who submits a bid is doing so of his or her own free will and without
liability to the County.
The county intends to evaluate the bids within 60 days of the due date. The County reserves the
right to reject any and all bids received without penalty and to not enter into a contract as a result
of this request for bids. The County reserves the right to negotiate separately with any sources
whatsoever in any manner necessary to attend to the best interest of the County, to waive
irregularities in any bid and to accept a bid which best meets the needs of the County,
irrespective of the bid price.
The County reserves the right to make an award without further discussion of any bid submitted.
Therefore, the bid submitted initially should be the most favorable terms which the Bidder can
propose. There will be no best and final offer procedure. The County does reserve the right to
contact a bidder for clarification of the bid.
