Janet Drive Intersection Improvements
Sealed bids addressed to the City of Searcy, Arkansas, will be received at Searcy City Hall, 401 West Arch Avenue, Searcy Arkansas, until 10:00 A.M., May 7th, 2026, and then publicly opened and read for furnishing all labor, material, and equipment, and performing all work required for constructing the improvements to the intersection of Janet Drive and E. Beebe Capps Expressway.
The project consists of installing a new traffic signal and improving the intersection of Janet Drive and E. Beebe Capps Expressway. The project will be constructed in a variable width right of way and permanent drainage easement. The improvements consist primarily of reconstructing and widening the existing radius including, but not limited to grading, crushed stone base course, ACHM paving, curb & gutter, drainage structures, and other miscellaneous items.
Proposals shall be accompanied by a cashier’s or certified check upon a national or state bank in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total maximum bid price payable without recourse to the City of Searcy, Arkansas or a bid bond in the same amount from a reliable surety company, as a guarantee that the Bidder will enter into a contract and execute performance and payment bonds within ten (10) days after notice of award of Contract to him. The notice of award of Contract shall be given by the Owner within thirty (30) days following the opening of bids.
The successful Bidder must furnish a performance and payment bond upon the form provided in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price from an approved surety company holding a permit from the State of Arkansas to act as surety, or other surety or sureties acceptable to the Owner.
The attention of bidders is called to the fact that Act 150 of 1965 (as amended), Arkansas Statutes, states that under certain conditions a Contractor must be licensed by the State Licensing Board for Contractors before he may undertake work in Arkansas. The Bidder shall comply with requirements of this Arkansas Law.

Proposals will be considered on the basis of cost, the bidder’s financial responsibility, his equipment, and his past performance in completing similar work. The City of Searcy reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informalities, and to accept the proposal deemed to be for their best interest.
