This procurement is for gastrointestinal scope equipment in accordance with FAR 13.5 Simplified Procedures for Certain Commercial Items and specifically FAR 13.501 Special Documentation Requirements, where acquisitions conducted under Simplified Acquisition Procedures are exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6, but still require a justification using the format of FAR 6.303-2. This action is a new requirement for the procurement of endoscopic ultrasound scopes under urgent and compelling conditions as well as under the authority at VAAR 819.7008 Sole source awards to verified service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses. The applicable NAICS code is 339112, SURGICAL AND MEDICAL INSTRUMENT MANUFACTURING with a size standard of 1000 employees. Sole source award has been made to ALLIANT ENTERPRISES, LLC (SAM.gov UEI: RM64EJ3CJ7Z5) for the supply of items manufactured by Olympus America in the total amount of $281,122.10.
