Project Description: St. Louis Public Schools for the benefit of Gateway MST Middle School; is seeking statements of qualifications from experienced vendors to design, supply, and support an African American Literature Library Initiative. The purpose of this Request for Supplier Qualifications (RFSQ) is to identify qualified providers capable of delivering culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate African American literature and related literacy supports aligned with the Missouri Learning Standards. The initiative is intended to increase student literacy achievement, engagement and motivation; support instruction, intervention and enrichment across varied reading levels; and foster a school-wide culture of reading. Proposals may include instructional supports, professional development, author engagement and strategies that promote family and community involvement. Successful implementation will result in improved access to high-quality, culturally responsive texts, enhanced instructional capacity and the creation of a welcoming, student-centered literacy space.
