The service acquired is a remotely piloted aircraft surrogate, aircraft dynamics, and control education and research using a contractor owned and operated aircraft and ground support equipment. The aircraft must be equipped to emulate a number of different aircraft configurations to allow student pilots from the USAF TPS the ability to operate the aircraft from a ground-based control station, vary the flying qualities and control law architectures of the Learjet to simulate different types of aircraft. Further, a ground simulator and ground test equipment are required to properly educate students as well as ground test configurations for flight testing on the aircraft.
